New Delhi: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Syed Sadatullah Husaini, has reiterated his strong condemnation of the ongoing joint military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran and emphasized that the present confrontation must not be allowed to escalate into a wider regional conflict involving the Gulf and the broader Middle East.

In a statement to the media, the JIH President said that the continuing military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory constitute a blatant violation of national sovereignty and a grave breach of international law. He noted with deep anguish that these attacks have caused large-scale civilian casualties and destruction across several parts of Iran. The recent airstrike in Minab, South Iran, in which reportedly 165 schoolgirls were killed when a school was targeted, has shocked the conscience of humanity. Such attacks on innocent civilians, particularly children, constitute grave violations of international humanitarian law and demand urgent accountability before the United Nations and the wider international community. He further observed that the escalation is especially disturbing as these strikes were launched even while diplomatic negotiations were reportedly underway, thereby undermining the prospects of peaceful resolution and signaling a dangerous preference for military coercion over dialogue.

The JIH President stated that “the current crisis is a manifestation of a disturbing trend of militarized intervention that has consistently destabilized the Middle East and left millions of civilians vulnerable to suffering and insecurity. By siding with Israel’s aggressive policies, the United States has been perpetuating a cycle of hostility that endangers not only Iran but the entire Gulf region.”
He expressed concern about reported civilian casualties in the neighbouring Gulf countries. “Iran has the right to defend its sovereignty against aggression, but actions that could potentially draw neighboring Arab states into the conflict should be avoided. The current crisis should not be allowed to escalate into an Iran-Arab conflict that would further divide the region and cause grave humanitarian and economic repercussions for the people of the Gulf and the Middle East. Wisdom, prudence, and sound diplomacy are therefore immediately needed to prevent the region from being lured into a disastrous and protracted war. We also urge the Arab countries to ensure that their lands, airspace and resources are not used for the aggression.”

The JIH President also urged the Government of India to use its diplomatic stature to work actively for the immediate cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a permanent ceasefire. He emphasized that India’s continued silence, or any perceived alignment with the aggressors, serves neither the country’s long-term strategic interests nor its historic moral commitment to anti-imperialism and justice in international affairs. India, he said, should raise a clear and principled voice against the ongoing US–Israel aggression and play a proactive role in mobilising international efforts to halt the violence and restore peace and stability in the region.
Syed Sadatullah Husaini appealed to the international community to take immediate action to prevent further escalation, ensure accountability for the violation of international law, and initiate fresh diplomatic efforts. “A lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through dialogue, respect for sovereignty, and a commitment to justice in international relations.”
He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has always been opposed to aggression, imperialism, and the violation of national sovereignty, and that the current crisis must be dealt with through sound diplomacy and not military intervention so that the people of the region are spared yet another disastrous conflict.
