As a Minister, Atishi had run away from her responsibilities—Futile to expect any better from her as Chief Minister—Devender Yadav

NEW DELHI, September 21, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s propaganda that  Atishi, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister today following the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, will perform miracles in the next few months to turn around the deteriorating  condition of the Capital, was a wishful thinking as  she had failed to address the problems of Delhi  in the past one and a half years as a Minister, holding 13 vital portfolios. He said that  Kejriwal destroyed Delhi in every possible manner in the past 10 years, and it was futile to expect his successor Atishi to do any better, as her performance as a Minister has been below par. He said that Atishi had  washed her hands off when the Capital got waterlogged, and many people died due to  drowning and electrocution, as neither the PWD, nor the MCD, could salvage the situation, in the absence of any desilting work before the monsoon, leaving the people to their own fate.

Mr, Yadav said that Atishi has inherited Kejriwal’s legacy of corruption, mismanagement and incompetence, and even residents of her own Assembly, Kalkaji, are skeptical about her performing any better in the next few months.  

Mr, Yadav said that Congress party’s best wishes are with her for her elevation as the Chief Minister, but it defies logic what kind of remarkable transformation she could bring to Delhi in the coming four-five months, as she had always run away from her responsibilities, blaming the Lt. Governor and the officials for the serious lapses of her own Ministry. He said that when people were thirsting for every drop of drinking water, she chose to sit on a “dharna”, which was a publicity student, instead of taking up the matter with the Haryana Government to release more water into the Yamuna though the truth was that she had failed to prevent water theft, loss and the hold of the tanker mafia in controlling water distribution to colonies dominated by the poor and the common people.

Mr Yadav said that Kejriwal had made lofty promises like clearing the three garbage mountains by 31^st January, 2023 if Aam Aadmi Party came to power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, but now the deadline has been extended to December, 2028! Shri Devender Yadav said that for two years, after AAP won the MCD election, the Corporation was in a defunct state, without constituting the ward committees and the Standing Committee, as AAP wasted time in litigation with the Lt. Governor on flimsy grounds, without putting the MCD work on track.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Atishi was a  failure as Education Minister as Government schools are in a pitiable, neglected state, power companies were fleecing the consumers with inflated bills, and most streets are now pitch dark after sunset as street lights do not function, and Discom hike power tariffs at will, they don’t own up responsibility when innocents die due to electrocution as the power companies do not listen to the Minister, and in such a scenario, it was futile to expect anything better from her.

नई दिल्ली, 21 सितम्बर, 2024 – दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि कांग्रेस दिल्ली को मिली महिला मुख्यमंत्री का स्वागत करती है परंतु आतिशी के अनुभव और कार्यशैली से विपक्षी दल क्या, जनता भी संतुष्ट नही है। जल मंत्री, बिजली मंत्री और शिक्षा मंत्री का दायित्व निभाते हुए आतिशी ने दिल्ली वालों की परेशानियों का हल निकालने के जगह जल संकट के समय धरने पर बैठना, बिजली कम्पनियों द्वारा बिलो पर पीपीएसी शुल्क की बढ़ोतरी का जनता के पक्ष में विरोध तक नही दर्ज कराया। उन्होंने कहा कि जिम्मेदारियों से भागकर बदले की भावना वाली कार्यशैली आतिशी की पहचान बन चुकी है।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि मैं नवनियुक्त मुख्यमंत्री आतिशी से पूछना चाहता हूॅ कि उनका पदग्रहण के बाद सर्वप्रथम जिम्मेदारी क्या होगी? क्या जनलोकपाल बिल लाऐंगी, सरकार में भ्रष्टाचार को खत्म करने लिए काम करेंगी, अपराधिक मामलों में लिप्त विधानसभा सदस्यों के खिलाफ कार्यवाही करेंगी, जल संकट को दुरस्त करेंगी, बदहाल सड़कों, खतरनाक प्रदूषण, दिल्ली की गलियों, ओवरफ्लो सीवर, नालों, सडकों व अंडरपास में जल निकासी की समस्या, बदहाल शिक्षा व्यवस्था, ध्वस्त स्वास्थ्य व्यवस्था, अनाधिकृत कॉलोनियों, पुर्नवास कॉलोनियों, झुग्गी झौपड़ी, मलीन बस्तियों में मूलभूत सुविधाऐं देने, कमरतोड़ महंगाई, बेरोजगारी, अनुबंधित शिक्षक, मार्शलों, आशा वर्कर को नियमित करने पर कार्यवाही करेंगी और सबसे बड़ा कूड़े का ढेर बन चुकी दिल्ली जिसमें कूड़े तीन भलस्वा, औखला और गाजीपुर के पहाड़ों को हटाने में से किन-किन समस्याओं को अगले 3-4 महीनों में हल निकालने के लिए काम करेंगी।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार में व्याप्त भ्रष्टाचार और भ्रष्टाचारी अरविन्द केजरीवाल मंत्रीमंडल के सदस्यों द्वारा किए भ्रष्टाचार की कार्यशैली से आतिशी कैसे अलग हो सकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि मानसूनी बारिश से हुए जलभराव, करंट से, नालों व इमारतों के नीचे दबने के कारण हुई मौतों की जिम्मेदारी आतिशी ने आज तक नहीं ली और दिल्ली सरकार और दिल्ली नगर निगम में आप पार्टी की सत्ता होने के बावजूद मरने वालों न्याय नही दिलाया सिर्फ आरोप प्रत्यारोप की राजनीति की। शपथ से एक दिन पहले आतिशी के दावा किया कि अगर केजरीवाल नहीं आए तो दिल्ली में भी बिजली का यूपी जैसा हाल होगा। मैं पूछना चाहता हूॅ कि क्या आतिशी अपने आप को सक्षम नही समझती।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की दिल्ली सरकार के पिछले 10 वर्षों के कार्यकाल में बदहाल और बर्बाद हो चुकी दिल्ली को सुधारने के लिए आतिशी की क्या योजना है? 2013 में भ्रष्टाचार मुक्ति का नारा देकर सत्ता में आए अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को निभाने के लिए करोड़ो रुपये के शराब घोटाले, शिक्षा घोटाला, स्वास्थ्य घोटाला, जल बोर्ड घोटाला, डीटीसी घोटाला, पीडब्लूडी घोटाला, राशन कार्ड घोटाला, टैंकर माफिया घोटाला, गाद निकालने का घोटाला, वक्फ बोर्ड घोटाला सहित सरकारी विभागों के अंदर भ्रष्टाचार के मामलो के दोषियों पर कार्यवाही करने का काम करेंगी।
