नई दिल्ली – बिजली बचत की दिशा में दिल्ली सरकार ने बड़ा कदम उठाते हुए सभी सरकारी इमारतों में कम बिजली खपत करने वाले बीएलडीसी पंखे, 5-स्टार रेटिंग वाले एयर कंडीशनर के साथ-साथ बेहतर स्तर रेटिंग वाले बिजली के उपकरणों का उपयोग अनिवार्य करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस निर्णय को सीएम आतिशी से मंजूरी मिल गई है।सरकार के इस निर्णय से न केवल बिजली की बचत होगी बल्कि सालना करोड़ो रुपयों की भी बचत होगी।
इस बाबत साझा करते हुए सीएम आतिशी ने कहा कि,”हमारी सरकार ने ऊर्जा दक्षता को प्राथमिकता देते हुए यह निर्णय लिया है कि सभी सरकारी इमारतों में कम बिजली इस्तेमाल करने वाले बीएलडीसी पंखे, 5-स्टार रेटेड एयर कंडीशनर और अन्य ऊर्जा दक्ष उपकरणों का उपयोग अनिवार्य होगा। यह कदम न केवल बिजली खपत और बिलों को कम करेगा, बल्कि एक हरित भविष्य की दिशा में भी बड़ा योगदान देगा। यह पहल देशभर के लिए एक उदाहरण बनेगी कि कैसे टेक्नोलॉजी इनोवेशन और सही पॉलिसी के जरिए ऊर्जा संरक्षण को बढ़ावा दिया जा सकता है।”
उन्होंने कहा कि, “हमारा लक्ष्य है कि सरकारी इमारतों में ऊर्जा दक्ष उपकरणों का इस्तेमाल करते हुए बिजली को बचाया जाए और इस निर्णय से हम हर साल करोड़ों रुपये की बचत करेंगे। साथ ही यह कदम पर्यावरणीय संतुलन बनाए रखने और कार्बन उत्सर्जन को कम करने की दिशा में भी बड़ा योगदान देगा।
बता दे कि, दिल्ली सरकार की इमारतें बिजली की बड़ी खपतकर्ता हैं। दिल्ली सरकार के विभाग हर साल 2000 मिलियन यूनिट से अधिक बिजली का उपयोग करते हैं, जिसकी लागत 8.50 रुपये से 11.50 रुपये प्रति यूनिट होती है। इस कारण से बिजली बिलों पर 1900 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक खर्च होते हैं।
*किस तरह होगी बिजली की बचत?*
तकनीक में सुधार के कारण बिजली बचाने के कई विकल्प उपलब्ध हैं। जैसे कि एलईडी लाइट्स ने पहले ही ऊर्जा बचत में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है, अब फोकस पंखों और एयर कंडीशनर्स पर है।
बीएलडीसी पंखे, पारंपरिक पंखों की तुलना में, लगभग 40-45 वाट कम बिजली की खपत करते हैं। इससे हर साल प्रति पंखा लगभग 96 यूनिट बिजली बचाई जा सकती है, जिससे 950 से 1100 रुपये की बचत संभव है।
इसी तरह, 5-स्टार रेटेड एयर कंडीशनर सामान्य एसी की तुलना में 2800 से 3042 यूनिट बिजली बचा सकते हैं, जो सालाना 27,000 से 29,000 रुपये की बचत का कारण बनता है।
इस पहल का मुख्य उद्देश्य बिजली की बढ़ती मांग को नियंत्रित करना और ऊर्जा दक्षता को बढ़ावा देना है। इस साल गर्मियों में दिल्ली में बिजली की पीक डिमांड 8656 मेगावाट तक पहुंच गई थी, जो पिछले वर्ष के 7438 मेगावाट के मुकाबले काफी अधिक है।
ऐसे में सरकारी इमारतें, जो बिजली की प्रमुख खपतकर्ता हैं, इस पहल से बिजली का दक्षता से इस्तेमाल करते हुए बिजली बचाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएंगी।

In a landmark decision to conserve electricity, the Delhi government has mandated the use of energy-efficient appliances, including BLDC fans, 5-star rated air conditioners, and other high-efficiency devices, across all its buildings. Chief Minister Atishi has approved the proposal, which will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor for final clearance. This move is expected to significantly cut electricity consumption and save crores of rupees annually.
Sharing details about the initiative, CM Atishi said: “Our government has prioritized energy efficiency by mandating the use of BLDC fans, 5-star rated air conditioners, and other energy-efficient devices in all government buildings. This step will not only reduce electricity consumption and bills but also contribute significantly to building a greener future. Delhi’s initiative will serve as a model for the entire country, demonstrating how technological innovations and effective policies can drive energy conservation.”
She further emphasized,
”Our goal is to save electricity in government buildings through the use of energy-efficient appliances. This decision will enable us to save crores of rupees annually while contributing to environmental sustainability and reducing carbon emissions.”
Government buildings are among the largest consumers of electricity in Delhi. Each year, Delhi government departments consume over 2000 million units of electricity, costing between ₹8.50 and ₹11.50 per unit. This results in annual electricity bills exceeding ₹1900 crore.
*How Will This Initiative Save Electricity?*
Advancements in technology have made several energy-saving options accessible. While LED lights have already played a significant role in reducing electricity consumption, the focus is now shifting to fans and air conditioners.
* BLDC Fans: Compared to conventional fans, BLDC fans consume 40-45 watts less power, saving approximately 96 units of electricity per fan annually. This translates to monetary savings of ₹950 to ₹1100 per fan each year.
* 5-Star Rated Air Conditioners: These ACs save between 2800 and 3042 units of electricity annually compared to regular ACs, resulting in savings of ₹27,000 to ₹29,000 per AC each year.
*A Step Towards Energy Efficiency*
The primary objective of this initiative is to curb the rising demand for electricity and promote energy efficiency. This summer, Delhi’s peak electricity demand reached 8656 MW, a significant increase from 7438 MW the previous year.
Government buildings, being major electricity consumers, will play a key role in achieving these goals through the efficient use of energy-saving appliances. This step marks a critical contribution to addressing growing energy demands while fostering environmental sustainability.
