NEW DELHI, March 27, 2024тАФDelhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely said that the mega Save Democracy (Loktantrat Bachao) Rally, to be held at the Ramlila ground on March 31, 2024, will be addressed by the top leaders of the Congress and the India Alliance parties, as the India Alliance partners will strongly oppose the BJP GovernmentтАЩs determined attempt to misuse and undermine Constitutional agencies like the ED (Enforcement Directorate), CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Income Tax authorities to suppress and harass Opposition leaders, with the Lok Sabha elections at the door step.

Addressing Congress workers and leaders at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today, Shri Lovely said that the BJP Government was misuing the Constitutional agencies and destroying the existence of constitutional agencies.

Shri Lovely said that it was shocking that the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had spent only 20 per cent of the Environment Protection Charge and Environmental Compensation collected for the eradication of air pollution in Delhi-NCR and protecting the environment, despite the CPCB receiving compensation under the heads of Environment Protection Charge (EPC) and Environmental Compensation (EC). He said that without addressing the basic requirements of the people, the BJP had even failed to utilize crores of rupees collected for pollution control, and the BJP should apologie to the people of Delhi as it was responsible for the toxic air prevailing in the Capital for the past 10 years to cause permanent damage to the health of the people.

Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely along with AIMC president Alka Lamba and DPMC President Pushpa Singh also welcomed many prominent women leaders from other political parties into the Congress fold by giving them the Congress scarfs. Shri Lovely said most atrocities were committed against women during BJP rule, now women are again seeing hope in Congress

Among the women who joined the Congress, a large number were present including Lok Janshakti Party, State Secretary Bhagwati Bhavana from Karol Bagh district, Hemlata from West Puri, General Secretary Meenakshi, Block President Guddo Devi, Kesari Devi, Poonam Kumari and Rakhi Kumari.
