Delhi Congress expels the fair-weather leaders and workers, who have left the party to join other political outfits, for six years—Dr Narendra Nath, Chairman, Disciplinary Committee, DPCC.
NEW DELHI, – Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Dr Narendra Nath announced here today that after having detailed discussions with other members of the Committee, it was decided to recommend to Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar to expel all those who left the party to join other political outfits, for six years.
Dr Narendra Nath said that Congress has a tradition of serving the nation and the people, and it was decided to recommend the expulsion of these political fair-weather leaders and workers from the party, to maintain discipline and the Congress tenets.
Dr Narendra Nath said that Congress has always rewarded and promoted those who stood by the party in thick and thin, and worked for the Congress’ welfare programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, and in the protests against the anti-people actions of the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party, and consolidated the party’s position at the grass-root level. He said that such devoted workers will get preference during the ticket distribution for the upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. He said that those who left the party for certain reasons and want to return as they firmly believed in the Congress party’s policies and programmes, would have to still take fresh membership to be considered for ticket selection.
