DPCC president Shri Devender Yadav offers floral tribute to late Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Shri Rajiv Gandhi, on his birth anniversary

NEW DELHI, August 20, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav offered floral tribute to late Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Shri Rajiv Gandhi, on his 80th birth anniversary at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. Earlier in the morning, Shri Devender Yadav also attended a prayer meeting at Rajiv Ji’s Samadhi at Veer Bhumi, Raj Ghat. A large number of Congress leaders and workers also showered floral tribute at the portrait of Shri Rajiv Ji, who was the author of the computer and telecom revolutions in the country,  Panchayati Raj and empowerment of women by mooting women’s quota in all legislative bodies, and their involvement in decision-making.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the people of India will always remember Rajiv Ji for his supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the country. He said that Rajiv Ji’s public life was totally devoted in the service and welfare of the people.

Shri Devender Yadav also launched the  Mahendra Yadav scholarship scheme for  students who excel in different subjects.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Rajiv Ji was a leader with a great vision, and as Prime Minister, he took many daring and dynamic steps for the uplift of youth and women, as he firmly believed that without their active participation and whole-hearted support, the country cannot progress and develop. And for that, they should not only be made participants of the electoral as well as decision-making processes, and with that in mind, he gave voting rights to 18-year-old youth, and for that the nation would eternally be indebted to Rajiv Ji.

Shri Devender Yadav said that those who promote corruption, play divisive and communal politics, have driven the youth of the country to despair as record levels of unemployment, price rise, attacks on women, move to rob farmers and labour of the fruits of their hard labour,  have ruined lives of the people. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s relentless effort to speak up for the poor, underprivileged, downtrodden and the neglected, on the streets and inside Parliament, have instilled hope among the people of  getting a fairer deal.

नई दिल्ली, 20 अगस्त, 2024 – दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने आधुनिक भारत के शिल्पकार, भारत रत्न, पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री श्री राजीव गांधी की 80वीं जयंती के अवसर पर प्रदेश कार्यालय में राजीव जी की तस्वीर पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने राजीव भवन में राजीव गांधी जी के स्टैच्यू पर माल्यार्पण भी किया।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने आज प्रातः राजीव जी की समाधि वीर भूमि पर प्रार्थना करने के बाद राजीव भवन में कांग्रेस नेताओं और कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ राजीव गांधी जी को याद किया। प्रदेश अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि देश की एकता और अखंडता के लिए अपना सर्वस्व न्यौछावर करने वाले श्री राजीव गांधी का देश सदैव ऋणी रहेगा।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने राजीव जी के जन्मदिवस पर युवा उत्थान को संकल्पित प्रधान महेन्द्र यादव छात्रवृति योजना के अंतर्गत मेधावी छात्रों को सम्मानित करने के लिए कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जिसमें शिक्षा के अलग-अलग के क्षेत्र में प्रख्यात मेधावी छात्रों को छात्रृवति देने के साथ उन्हें सम्मानित भी किया गया।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि राजीव जी एक दूरदर्शी एवं विचारशील व्यक्ति थे, जिन्होंने 21वीं सदी में देश के सामने आई चुनौतियां और जरुरतां का सामना करते हुए भारत को विश्व शक्ति बनाने के लिए तैयार किया। उन्होंने कहा कि राजीव जी की ही दूरदर्शिता थी जिसने कम्प्यूटर और दूरसंचार क्रांति को समय से पहले देश में लाए, जिसका परिणाम आज भारत तकनीकी क्षेत्र में दुनिया के देशों की अग्रिम पंक्ति में खड़ा दिखाई देता है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था में युवा को भागीदार बनाने के लिए राजीव जी ने उन्हें 18 वर्ष की आयु में मतदान का अधिकार दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि  राजीव जी के प्रधानमंत्रित्व में असंख्य देशवासियों को रोजगार के नए अवसर मिले, गरीबों के कल्याण और उत्थान के लिए काम किया।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि आज बेरोजगारी, महंगाई, युवाओं, महिलाओं, किसानों, मजदूरों, गरीब, पिछड़ों, वंचितों, अल्पसंख्यकों, अनुसूचित जाति व जनजाति के लोगों पर बढ़ते अत्याचार, संविधान के प्रारुप को बदलना, भ्रष्टाचार जैसे महत्वपूर्ण कुछ ऐसे दंश है जिसे आज पूरा देश झेल रहा है, जिसकी राजीव गांधी ने कभी परिकल्पना भी नही की थी, क्योंकि कांग्रेस पार्टी ने कभी भी देश की प्रगतिशीलता को रुकने नही दिया। नेहरु जी के प्रभावशाली नेतृत्व, इंदिरा जी और राजीव जी के बलिदान के बाद भी कदम दर कदम देश आगे बढ़ता चला गया है। शिक्षा के महत्व को हर देशवासी को बताने और विदेश नीति को व्यवस्थित बनाया, जिससे युवाओं को विदेशों में रोजगार मिलने की शुरुआत हुई।
