NEW DELHI :- Under the vision of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal to support COVID warriors’ families who lost their lives to the pandemic, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia handed over Samman Rashi of Rs 1 crore each to three families. Prem Babu, OT staff at Delhi government’s GTB hospital, Bus Marshal Ravindra Singh and Civil Defence Volunteer Satnam Singh lost their lives during the pandemic while serving the COVID patients. The Deputy Chief Minister on Monday handed over the amount to their families. 
Shri Manish Sisodia said, “COVID warriors of Delhi worked selflessly during the pandemic and sacrificed their lives to protect humanity and society without caring for their own lives. Delhi government salutes their spirit. No amount can compensate for the loss of the family of the deceased COVID warriors, but their family will definitely get a means to live a dignified life through this amount.”
Adding on, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the COVID-induced pandemic was a terrible crisis for the entire humanity which inculcated fear in society but corona warriors in Delhi risked their lives to get Delhi out of this crisis. Thousands of corona warriors including doctors, medical staff, support staff, and sanitation workers worked day and night to fight this unprecedented pandemic and many of them were martyred while serving the people.
Shri Manish Sisodia added that the Delhi Government will always stand with the families of the COVID warriors. This scheme of the Delhi government gives confidence to the families of COVID warriors that the government and society are always with them. Though this is a small amount, it will help the families lead a dignified life. 
It is to be mentioned here that prior to this, the Delhi government has given the ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore each to the families of over 30 COVID warriors.

*Shri Prem Babu, OT Assistant, GTB Hospital
Shri Prem Babu was a dedicated OT staff at the Delhi government’s GTB Hospital. While serving critical COVID patients during the pandemic in the ‘Red Zone’ of the hospital, his work included carrying various essential equipment to and from the ICU. During that time, while serving critically ill COVID patients, he got infected with the virus and died after fighting a tough battle for life for 12 days. The Delhi government handed over an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore to the family of COVID Warrior Prem Babu.
*Shri Ravindra Singh, Delhi Homeguard
Shri Ravindra Singh was posted as Bus Marshal at DTC Bus Depot Sarojini Nagar. During the COVID-induced lockdown, he was deployed on duty in specially hired buses for security. He got infected while being on duty and died in the hospital during treatment. The Kejriwal government has handed over an honorarium of Rs 1 crore to the family of COVID Warrior Ravindra Singh.
*Shri Satnam Singh, Civil Defense Volunteer, District Magistrate Office, Shahdara
Shri Satnam Singh was deputed on COVID Duty to ensure the implementation of the COVID Protocol in the areas under the jurisdiction of the District Magistrate Office, Shahdara. He got infected with the virus while being on duty and died a few days later. The Delhi Government has handed over an honorarium of Rs 1 crore to the family of COVID Warrior Satnam Singh.
