“Double engine” BJP Government cannot offer any excuses for the worsening law and order situation in  Delhi—Devender Yadav

NEW DELHI, March 28, 2025—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav wondered when would peace and safety return to Delhi even though the Capital now has a “double engine” BJP Government in power? He said that people are neither safe inside their homes, nor outside as murders, robberies, lootings, snatchings, kidnappings and ramsone demands have become an everyday occurrence in the Capital now.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Union Home Minister  Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting with newly-elected Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, Home Minister  Ashish Sood, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and senior officials on law and order and coordination, on February 28, 2025, and Amit Shah had said that the “double engine” government of Delhi will work with “double speed” for a developed and safe Delhi “as per the expectations of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi”, but nothing has improved since then. He said that the refusal of Speaker Shri Vijender Gupta to hold a discussion on law and order in the Assembly was a clear proof that neither the BJP nor the previous AAP Government was serious about law and order situation. He said that  Delhiites have been suffering  for the past 12 years due to the  ever worsening law and order with the Government in power least concerned abou the safety and security of the people. Shri Devender Yadav said that the previous Kejriwal Government often blamed the Lt. Governor for the worsening law and order situation in the Capital and people suffered in silenc but now that BJP is in power both in Delhi and at the Centre, the State Government  has no excuses to offer for the  rising crime rates, including  assaults on women and girls. He said that when Congress was in power in Delhi with a BJP at the Centre, law and order was managed very effectively and efficiently with complete co-ordination among all the concerned agencies, but the BJP and AAP only indulged in constant slug fests in order to  score political points, instead of ensuring the safety and security of the residents of the Capital.

Shri Devender Yadav appealed to CM Rekha Gupta to take the strong steps to bring back and law and order under control as the “double engine” BJP Government cannot offer any alibi for its failure to control the rising crime graph.

नई दिल्ली, 28 मार्च, 2025 – दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि दिल्ली में बढ़ती अपराधिक गतिविधियों के लिए आखिर जिम्मेदार कौन है, क्या भाजपा की डबल इंजन सरकार भी दिल्ली में हर रोज हो रहे अपराधों को रोकने के लिए कुछ नही करेगी? क्या दिल्ली में भाजपा मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने शपथ लेते ही केन्द्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह के साथ दिल्ली की कानून व्यवस्था सुधारने के लिए 28 फरवरी की बैठक सिर्फ दिल्ली वालों को भ्रमित करने के लिए हुई थी।  यह चिंताजनक है कि राजधानी में बढ़ते अपराधों की जिम्मेदारी न तो अमित शाह ले रहे है और न ही मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि दिल्ली की जनता पिछले 12 वर्षों से लगातार भाजपा और आम आदमी पार्टी की आपसी लड़ाई के बीच पिस रही है और खुले आम घूम रहे बेखौफ अपराधियों के कारण डर के साए में जीने को मजबूर है। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली विधानसभा के अध्यक्ष श्री विजेन्द्र गुप्ता के द्वारा कानून व्यवस्था पर चर्चा करने से मना करके यह सिद्ध कर दिया है कि जैसे आम आदमी पार्टी अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान गंभीर नही थी वैसे ही भाजपा की दिल्ली सरकार भी इस मुद्दे से भागती नजर आ रही है। कानून व्यवस्था को नियंत्रित करने जैसे गंभीर विषय पर भाजपा और आम आदमी पार्टी की लगातार लड़ाई दिल्ली का दुर्भाग्य है या दिल्ली वालों की बदनसीबी, जिन्होंने अपनी सुरक्षा और कल्याण के लिए पहले आम आदमी पार्टी को 10 साल से अधिक सत्तासीन बनाया और अब भाजपा को बहुमत दिया है, लेकिन कांग्रेस के 15 वर्षों के शासन जैसी दुरस्त कानून व्यवस्था अभी तक दिल्ली में देखने को नही मिली है। तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित केन्द्रीय गृह मंत्रालय के साथ सम्वन्य बनाकर दिल्ली वालां की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करती थी।

 देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि राजधानी दिल्ली में खुले आम गोलीबारी, गैंगवार, अपहरण, हत्या, खुलेआम नशे कीकालाबाजारी, लूटपाट, बलात्कार, छेड़छाड़, झपटमारी और महिलाओं के साथ बढ़ते जघन्य अपराधों से दिल्ली अपराधिक राजधानी बन गई है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि पिछले वर्ष हुए अपराधां की दिल्ली पुलिस की जारी रिपोर्ट में अपराध कम होने का दावा किया है परंतु जनवरी 2025 में ही प्रतिदिन 3 महिलाओं के साथ दुष्कर्म, प्रतिदिन 12 के साथ झपटमारी, प्रतिदिन 18 घरों में चोरी की वारदात, महिलाओं के साथ छेड़छाड़ और बुजुर्ग लोगों के साथ के साथ लूट और हत्या जैसी घटनाएं राजधानी के अपराधिक स्वरुप को उजागर करती है। अगर रिपोर्ट दर्ज न होने वाली घटनाएं जो सामने नही आती, उनका आंकलन हो जाए तो दिल्ली की वास्तविकता दिल दहलाने वाली है।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता अपने अधिकारों का प्रयोग करके उपराज्यपाल और केन्द्र गृहमंत्री अमित शाह के साथ समन्वय स्थापित करके दिल्ली पुलिस आयुक्त को दिशा निर्देश जारी करें ताकि दिल्ली वालां में बढ़ता खौफ कम हो सके और अपराधों में कमी आए। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली वालों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की जिम्मेदारी आखिर कौन लेगा? या वोट लेकर सत्ता मिलने के बाद डबल इंजन की सरकार दिल्ली के लोगों को लावारिस छोड़ देगी।
