 DPCC president Shri Devender Yadav launches the Women’s Shakti Abhiyan through the Indira Fellowship programme– to empower women and train them for leadership roles

NEW DELHI, October 2, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav today launched the Women’s Shakti Abhiyan through the Indira Fellowship Programme and Mobile No 8860712345 for women to join the programme by giving a missed call, at a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. Shri Devender Yadav said that the Indira Fellowship Programme was an initiative of the Indian National Congress in the memory of former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi to ensure 50 per representation for women in evey field, including politics and governance.

Besides Shri Devender Yadav, others present at the press conference were National Coordinator of Indira Fellowship Shakti Abhiyan Sifwa Mak, Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress President Mrs. Pushpa Singh, General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress Mrs. Neetu Verma, Indira Fellowship National Coordinator and Spokesperson of Shakti Abhiyan Avantika Tiwari and Spokesperson Anam Hasan.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Women’s Shakti Abhiyan through Indira Fellowship Programme would empower half the population of the country, who are women, which was first launched by Shri Rahul Gandhi on October 14, 2023 and relaunched by Rahul Ji on September 29, 2024. He said that in the past one year, the programme had gained much traction among women. He said that the focus of the programme would be to involve women in politics, and train them for leadership roles so that they can make their mark in every field.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress has consistently made efforts to encourage and empower women in politics and governance, and the party can take credit for contributing the first woman Prime Minister of India (Smt. Indira Gandhi), first woman President of India (Smt. Pratibha Patil) and Smt Sheila Dikshit, who headed Congress Government in Delhi for 15 consecutive years. He said that Congress has implemented policies and initiatives to ensure greater participation of women in politics and the decision making process.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Shri Rahul Gandhi is deeply invested in the idea of ensuring larger participation of women in politics and nation-building and has urged women to join the revolution called Shakti Abhiyan.

Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress president Smt. Pushpa Singh and senior leader Smt. Neetu Verma said that the goal was to ensure that women receive 50 per cent share in resources, opportunities and in power structures, and through this initiative “we aim to create an equal space for building women’s interest in politics, decision-making, encouraging representation ‘of women by women’ at all levels of governance—local bodies, legislative assemblies and Parliament”.

National co-ordinator of the Shakti Abhiyan Sifwa Mak said that in the short span of one year, more than 300 fellows have established 4300 Shakti Clubs with 31000 members in 28 States and 350 Blocks across the nation, serving as the nodal point for the setting up and running of the Shakti Abhiyan.

नई दिल्ली, 2 अक्टूबर, 2024- प्रदेश कार्यालय राजीव भवन में आयोजित संवादददाता सम्मेलन में आज दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने इंदिरा फेलोशिपक कार्यक्रम के तहत शक्ति अभियान की दिल्ली में शुरुआत की। इस अभियान के तहत आधी आबादी महिलाओं को शिक्षा, रोजगार, केन्द्र, राज्य, स्थानीय निकायों व राजनीति में 50 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी के अपने हक, अधिकार और स्वायतता के लिए इंदिरा फेलोशिप शक्ति अभियान के 8860712345 नम्बर पर मिस कॉल करके जुड़ने का दिल्ली की छात्राओं सहित घरेलू और कामकाजी महिलाओं से आव्हान किया। उन्होंने बताया कि इंदिरा फेलोशिप कार्यक्रम पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की स्मृति में राजनीतिक क्षेत्र में महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने के उदेश्य से बनाई गई।

संवाददाता सम्मेलन में प्रदेश अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव के साथ इंदिरा फेलोशिप शक्ति अभियान की नेशनल कॉआर्डिनेटर सिफवा मेक, दिल्ली प्रदेश महिला कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष श्रीमती पुष्पा सिंह, अ0भा0महिला कांग्रेस महासचिव श्रीमती नीतू वर्मा, शक्ति अभियान की नेशनल कॉआर्डिनेटर व प्रवक्ता अवंतिका तिवारी और प्रवक्ता आनम हसन मुख्य रुप मौजूद थीं।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि हमारे नेता श्री राहुल गांधी जी ने महिलाओं के सशक्तिकरण उनको अधिकार दिलाने के लिए 14 अक्टूबर 2023 को इंदिरा फेलोशिप की शुरुआत की थी और इसे अधिक मजबूत से लागू करने के लिए राहुल जी ने 29 सितम्बर, 2024 को शक्ति अभियान की शुरुआत राजनीति में महिलाओं को समानता, न्याय दिलाने की है। राहुल गांधी जी ने राजनीति और राष्ट्र निर्माण में महिलाओं की भागीदार सुनिश्चित करने के विचारधारा को नई दिशा दी और महिलाओं से शक्ति अभियान नामक इस क्रांति में शामिल होने का आग्रह भी किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि अभियान राजनीति प्रयास के रूप में यह आंदोलन महिलाओं को हक, हिस्सेदारी और पहचान दिलाने के मौलिक विचारों पर आधारित है।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी है जिसने देश को प्रथम महिला प्रधानमंत्री और प्रथम महिला राष्ट्रपति दी। दिल्ली की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित की प्रगतिशील सोच और उनके व्यक्तित्व के कारण ही दिल्ली विश्वस्तरीय शहर बना। कांग्रेस पार्टी ने शासन के विभिन्न पहलुओं में जिसमें राजनीतिक प्रतिनिधित्व शामिल है, महिलाओं को प्रोत्साहित और सशक्त बनाने का लगातार प्रयास किया है। कांग्रेस ने राजनीति में निर्णय लेने की प्रक्रियाओं में महिलाओं की अधिक भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिए पहल करके नीतियां बनाने का प्रयास किया है।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि लगभग एक साल के छोटे समय में इंदिरा फेलोशिप ने देश भर के 28 राज्यों में 350 ब्लाकों में 31000 सदस्यों के साथ 4300 शक्ति क्लब स्थापित किए है, जो शक्ति अभियान की स्थापना और संचालन के लिए केन्द्र बिंदु के रूप में कार्य करेंगे।

इंदिरा फेलोशिप की नेशनल कॉआर्डिनेटर शिफवा मेक ने कहा कि हमारा लक्ष्य महिलाओं की संसाधनों, अवसरों और सत्ता संरचनाओं में 50 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी सुनिश्चित करना है। हमारा उद्देश्य राजनीति और निर्णय लेने में महिलाओं के हित, अधिकार और उनको बराबर सम्मान देने की लड़ाई है। शासन के सभी स्तरों, स्थानीय निकायों, विधानसभा और संसद में महिलाओं को 50 प्रतिशत प्रतिनिधित्व देने को प्रोत्साहित करना हमारे शक्ति अभियान का लक्ष्य रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि मौजूदा राजनीति स्वरुप में महिलाओं की हिस्सेदारी परिपूर्ण नही है क्योंकि मौजूदा ढ़ांचा महिला विरोधी सत्ता की कुरीतियों से बनाया है। शक्ति अभियान के द्वारा हर गांव, पंचायत, मौहल्ला, कॉलोनी की महिलाओं को जोड़ने की कोशिश के साथ हमें अपने अधिकारों के लिए लड़ना होगा और हर स्तर पर संघर्ष करना होगा।
