NEW DELHI -Ever since the Kejriwal government has been formed in Delhi till now, the work of both a doorman and an office boy is being done by the same person like the government of Delhi. The owner is one and only one servant is doing double duty, eats the owner’s teeth everyday and remains restless. Where to go if you go? Kejriwal has made the life of the government difficult by making the Prime Minister the head of the central government and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, his Delhi state manager, sit at the head of the government of Delhi. Like any other state government, the Kejriwal government of Delhi does not have the right to take decisions on its own. Because Delhi does not have autonomy, Delhi is a union territory. The central government has been using Delhi as a gatekeeper. Earlier in the UPA government at the center, the Delhi government was run by the Congress, and when the UPA at the center was run by the Congress, then Delhi was developing smoothly, all the institutions were running smoothly, there was no problem. But now there is a BJP government in the center and Aam Aadmi Party i.e. Kejriwal government in Delhi, while both are workers of the same organization and disciples of the same guru, and then both of them have basically the same gotra, even though the elder brother is the younger brother. Delhi is not allowing the court to run. Is it a strange thing?
Anyhow Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia wrote to the Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh, on Thursday, urging him to cancel interviews for permanent posts in Delhi Govt-funded colleges till governing bodies are formed. The Deputy CM has highlighted his concerns about the ongoing interviews being conducted for permanent posts in some of the 28 colleges funded by the Delhi Government. In the letter Shri Manish Sisodia has urged the university to cancel the scheduled interviews for these positions with immediate effect. Several of these 28 colleges do not have a full-fledged governing body, and are currently being governed by a ‘truncated body’ without representation from the Delhi Government. In light of this, the Deputy CM has stated that financial decisions taken for these colleges creates a financial implication on GNCTD as well. He has urged the university to not take any financial decision without the approval of a full-fledged governing body that has adequate representation from GNCTD.
Shri Manish Sisodia stated, “It has come to my notice that interviews for the permanent posts are being held in some of the 28 colleges funded by the Government of NCT of Delhi (GNCTD). This includes, among others, Swami Shraddhanand college where interviews will be held from 16/02/2023. As you are well aware, several of these 28 colleges do not have a full- fledged governing body and at present are governed by a truncated body without representation from GNCTD. I understand the importance of conducting interviews for filling up important teaching posts but any financial decision taken for these colleges creates a financial implication on GNCTD as well. Therefore, scheduled interviews for these positions in all such colleges must be cancelled with immediate effect as no financial decision shall be taken without the approval of a full fledged governing body which has adequate representation from GNCTD.”
He added, “In light of the importance of filling up teaching positions, the process for forming Governing Bodies in 28 GNCTD colleges shall be expedited. The government nominations in this regard have been sent to you by my office on 28/01/2023 with DO no. DYCMR/2023/155. Any decision with financial implications, including on hiring for the permanent posts in the colleges, must be taken after approval from a fully functioning governing body.”
