  Early morning downpour causes chaos in Delhi as BJP Government’s false development model stands exposed—Devender Yadav

NEW DELHI,  May 2, 2025 – Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president  Shri Devender Yadav said that  all the big talk by the BJP Government about being fully prepared to tackle the monsoon woes, including  desilting of  drains and sewers, fell flat when heavy down pours early Friday morning caused  water logging  and traffic girdlock  not only in the usual suspect areas like ITO and Minto Road, but also in many other parts of the city as people  woke up to the sight of  water-logged streets and uprooted trees, with BJP’s false development model getting exposed.

Shri Devender Yadav said that BJP Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her Cabinet colleagues have been making tall claims of doing many things for the past three months, but the reality was exposed when an hour-long wet spell brought out the gross deficiencies in civic management, which the people have been suffering in silence for over the past 11 years. He said that  the corrupt Kejriwal Government had also made only promises without doing anything to improve the civic infrastructure, causing chaotic conditions when it rained, with the water-logged streets, mishaps and deaths occurring as a normal feature in the Capital.

Shri Devender Yadav said that CM Rekha Gupta  reached to see for herself   the water-logged Majnu Ka Tila nearly five  hours after the rains stopped with the rain water still clogging the area for the CM of the “triple engine” BJP Government to get a first hand experience of the inaction of her Government in the past three months.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the BJP Government has been claiming that it was busy desilting the drains and re-carpeting the broken roads so as to prevent any sort of water accumulation during rains, but what was witnessed on Friday morning was that the usual water-logging areas like Connaught Place, Minto Road, ITO, Delhi Secretariat, Moolchand, RK Puram, Airport Flyover, Mahipalpur Red Light, IGI Airport, Dwarka Underpass, Army Depot, Delhi Cantt Army Depot, Subroto Park and some  VIP areas came under water to create huge traffic jams in most parts of the city.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had ordered that the concerned ministry and departments and Delhi Jal Board would be held responsible  if there was water logging anywhere in Delhi, and the Executive Engineer would be dismissed immediately, but the people of Delhi are now eagerly waiting to see what action she would take to pin responsibility for Friday’s rainy woes. Shri Devender Yadav also expressed his deep condolences on the death of 3 children and a lady due to rain-related mishaps in the Najafgarh area.

Shri Devender Yadav said that people are experiencing the same kind of wretched feeling they had underwent during the  Aam Aadmi Party Government as last year, around 45 people had lost their life due to rain-related incidents, building collapse and water logging. He said that the “triple engine” BJP Government, including the  Municipal Corporation of Delhi, are looking askance at the gross failure of the authorities to prevent a repeat of the rainy woes of the people.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the BJP Government should work at the ground level to improve the civic infrastructure,  instead of making false claims  like the Aam Aadmi Party Government had done for over 11 years. He said that wherever the desilting work  had been done, the silt was not removed, and the morning downpour washed them back into the drains and sewers to block the flow of the accumulated rain water. He said that when Congress was in power, the desilting works would be done well ahead of the rainy season and the silt lifted away quickly so that they don’t flow back into the drains and sewers to clog them.

बिन मौसम की एक घंटे की बारिश ने दिल्ली को किया बेहाल, भाजपा का झूठा विकसित मॉडल हुआ जनता के सामने उजागर – देवेंद्र यादव

नई दिल्ली, 2 मई, 2025 – दिल्ली प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि आज की बिन मौसम की एक घंटे की बारिश से दिल्ली में हाहाकार अफरातफरी मच गई। जिसने भाजपा के झूठे विकसित मॉडल को जनता के सामने उजागर कर दिया है। भाजपा सरकार पिछले 12 वर्षों में ध्वस्त दिल्ली के बुनियादी ढ़ांचे को सुधारने पर ध्यान दे जबकि मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता जुमले और खोखले वादे करके दिल्ली वालों को सिर्फ गुमराह करने का काम कर रही है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता स्वयं मजनू का टीला जल भराव के हालात देखने पहुॅची, जहां बारिश बंद होने के 4-5 घंटे बाद भी सड़कों पर पानी खड़ा हुआ था।  जल निकासी और नालों की सफाई के मामले में भाजपा की ट्रिपल इंजन की सरकार भी पूरी फेल हो गई।

एक घंटे की बारिश ने दिल्ली सरकार की जल निकासी के दावे की पोल खोल कर रख दी। जल भराव के कारण कनॉट प्लेस, मिंटो रोड़, आईटीओ, दिल्ली सचिवालय, मूलचंद, आर के पुरम, एयरपोर्ट फ्लाईओवर, महिपालपुर रेड लाईट, आईजीआई एयरपोर्ट द्वारका अंडरपास, आर्मी डिपो, दिल्ली कैंट आर्मी डिपो, सुब्रतो पार्क कुछ ऐसे वीआईपी क्षेत्र है जहां भारी ट्रेफिक जाम घंटों रहा जबकि बाहरी, पूर्वी, उत्तर पूर्वी, पश्चिमी दिल्ली की सड़कों पर जमा पानी के कारण यातायात पूरे दिन अस्त व्यवस्त रहा।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने संबधित मंत्रालय और विभागों को आदेश दिया था कि अगर दिल्ली में कहीं भी जल भराव हुआ तो कार्यकारी अभियंता को तत्काल बर्खास्त किया जाएगा। अब जहां बारिश में पूरी दिल्ली जल मग्न हो गई है तो मुख्यमंत्री क्या पीडब्लूडी, दिल्ली जल बोर्ड के सभी जिम्मेदार अधिकारियां को बर्दाश्त करेंगी या स्वयं सहित पीडब्लूडी मंत्री का इस्तीफा लेंगी। श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने नजफगढ़ क्षेत्र में भारी बारिश के कारण मकान गिरने से 3 बच्चो और 1 महिला की मौत पर संवेदना भी प्रकट की।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि भाजपा की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता नालों की सफाई और सड़कों को दुरस्त करने की सिर्फ खोखली बयानबाजी करके शायद वही प्रक्रिया अपना रही है, जिस पर आम आदमी पार्टी की पिछली सरकार ने पूरे 11 वर्ष भ्रष्टाचार करके दस्तावेजों में काम किया था। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले वर्ष बारिश के कारण जल भराव में पानी में करंट उतरने, बिल्डिंग में पानी जाने, नालों में लोगों के गिरने से लगभग 45 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी जिसकी जिम्मेदारी आज तक न दिल्ली सरकार ने ली और नही दिल्ली नगर निगम ने।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि भाजपा की सरकार आम आदमी पार्टी की तरह झूठी बयानबाजी की जगह जमीन पर उतर कर काम करे। मुख्यमंत्री के सड़कों पर घूमने की जगह अपने पद और मंत्रालय के साथ समन्वय स्थापित करके जल भराव के मूल कारणों को खत्म करने पर काम करें। छोटे बड़े नालों से गाद निकालने, सड़कों की बदहाली का खत्म करके उसकी मरम्मत करना, नालियों की सफाई करने पर विशेष ध्यान देना होगा। तभी दिल्ली की जनता को राहत मिल सकेगी।

श्री देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी हो या भाजपा सरकार दिल्ली को ढांचागत व्यवस्था देने में नाकाम साबित रही है। श्री यादव ने कहा कि जनता की उम्मीदों अनुसार प्रशासन सिर्फ कांग्रेस को चलाना आता है, बेशक हम सत्ता से दूर हैं लेकिन व्यवस्थित कार्यशैली का अनुभव कांग्रेस के पास है।
